In the Ansteorran Heraldic Calendar, the octave of the Feast of Saint
Gabriel starts the year and heraldic January.  (The feast day and the
heralds' party are on September 29; eight days later, October 6, is
when Star Principal Herald traditionally regains consciousness.)
