>WE have tenetavely chosen Feochadan Fearann (Irish for land of
>thistles) but we are open to advice and suggestions. Tony

Well I offered help and now I turn to my fellow heralds (they had to
choose Irish Gaelic about which I know so little).

Question 1: To any who know/work with Irish Gaelic, is the above a
correct translation for Land of Thistles?

Question 2: Would an article be required for this name? For
example, should it appear as Canton of <Land of Thistles> or as
Canton of the <Land of the Thistles> (all in brackets translated)?

Question 3: Is Land of Thistles an appropriate period group name?

My own thoughts on question 3 support it as better than a lot of
group names I've run across. The "Land of" part bothers me a little
bit though. If it is a Canton, then it is a geographic space so the
"Land of" seems redundant. On the other hand, Canton of <Thistles>
seems a little lacking.

Since I will see him at Moonschadowe, any comments/suggestions?

Seigneur Etienne
