This blazon implies that two of the crampons are above the line of division
and one is below. The bottom half would have a gold crampon on a white
background, which certainly violates the Rule of Tincture by putting metal on
metal.
If the device had all three crampons above the line of division, it would not
violate the Rule of Tincture. The blazon would be
Per chevron azure and argent, in chief three crampons Or.
And it would need to be checked for conflict.

It's shown in the Pic Dic with no dates, but a device charged with crampons
was registered in April, 2000 so I must conclude that it is still an
acceptable charge. (Before you ask: Atenveldt, Alistair Ian McGregor.
Badge. Argent, two crampons crossed in saltire within a bordure dovetailed
azure. Clear of proposed device.) There are also four other devices from
1994/95 bearing crampons.
