Okay, I have a copy of "Dwelly's Illustrated Gaelic to English
Dictionary"  (a Scots Gaelic dictionary) and we have.....

fearann, -ainn, s.m. [s.f. in Badenoch] Land, country. 2 Estate.
3. Farm. 4** Earth, land, in contradistinction to water. F. saor,
freehold land; f. bàn lea-ground, 2 vacant (i.e. temporarily
unoccupied) land; f. treabhta, ploughed land; f. àlainn na Eireann
the fair country of Ireland; f. tioram, dry land; an am f. fàs,
in a desert land, f. comhroinn, suburbs; f. oighreachd, a manor;
f. coillteach, wood-land; f. dilghe, manor.

The ** signifies old, obsolete usage.

feochdan s.m., Corn-thistle, see aigheannach.

aigheannach -aich, s.m. Corn thistle (plant) -- carduus arvensis.
2 Place where thistles grow.

Sadly, there is no English to Gaelic section in this book, so I'm
at a bit of a loss to help with the other questions....
