"Voiding and fimbriation may only be used with simple
geometric charges placed in the center of the design."

Which means if it is a simple charge like an ordinary,
a mullet, heart, lozenge
AND
the charge is in the center of the field

You can fimbriate to your hearts content.

Note that you can't fimbriate peripheral ordinaries
like the chief or bordure or complex designs like
animals.
You can fimbriate ordinaries like bend, fess, pale
and such.

I don't believe you can fimbriate tertiary charges
but don't know where that precedent went.

Wonder if you could fimbriate an Orle?
