I misunderstood the point (because "unless" often means "if not":
"you'll die unless you go to the hospital" -> "you'll die if you don't
go to the hospital").  Rewriting:

The SCA blazon is "Per pale vert and sable, on a pale Or an oak tree
eradicated and fructed proper".  If the tree isn't entirely on the Or
part, then you have a fatal style flaw for having an overall charge
breaking the Rule of Tincture.
