[ANSTHRLD] Need Proper Term

I'm helping a submitter get her device ready, and need to know the proper term for a walking staff in the shape of a cross.  The submitter suggested that it was a "rood", but that is defined as a large cross or crucifix displayed in a church.  The other term I have found is "Apollo's staff", but I'm not sure that is correct.  Any ideas?
