Bahlow, Brechenmacher, Socin take your pick.
They are all out for the current German names I
am working on.

Bahlow has Haas 1383, Hase 1293, Ha(ss) 1363.
(ss) is the German double s that looks like a Greek
beta.

Socin has Hase and Brechenmacher has a very large entry
on this name which I can translate on request.

Let me know which spelling you want and I will
send the reference.

Haas/Hase is a rabbit, a rabbit hunter, or a person who lived at the sign of 
the rabbit.
Ha(ss) is a person who makes hats.
