Bahlow-Gentry, s.n. Hass (funny looking 'b') says see Hasse. But UGer. =
hater.

Hasse:LGer. sh f. Hasso (still a f.n. in the aristocracy) from
Hadebert, Hadeward like Bosse (Busse) for Borchard, Borgward. Knight
Hasso of Wedel, 1288; Hasso von Manteuffel; Hasso Blide, 1271; Hasso
Eldaghes, 1331. But UGer. Hass(funny looking 'b')(Prague 1363 means
Hauser 'hater' (1279 near Tu:bingen).

FYI:
There is a surname Hase that comes from the word 'hare'. There are two
other surnames that come from this name, Haas and Haase. If you want
that info, let me know. It's rather long.
