I found another path to the "Óðinn" name as well.  The Cleasby-Vigfusson Old
Icelandic dictionary notes that the documentably human masculine name Gautr
is also a poetical name for Óðinn, and suggests that it may mean "father".
If used in a patronymic, it would be "Gautson".
