just to put my 2 cents in (since i happen to know a
bit about bonwicke :-) )...

the "inverted crown" is definitely just artistic
license. i've tried working on that specific badge
before, and i was told, "we want the cross with the
ends like we've drawn them and bowicke's device on
top."

that's really all they're looking for.

in addition, is there a way to register the device if
it's as described previously, with one exception:
leave off the laurel leaves? (or has that already been
suggested, and i just wasn't paying attention? :-) )
