What?  "Aislynn" is Gaelic.  "s" is pronounced like English "sh", and I
believe that "ai" is close to "a" in this case.  That makes it
"Ashlin".

What?  That quote destroys your point: it says that "Aislinn" as
spelled in Irish is spelled "Ashlin" in English.

What?  That shows that they're identical.

The difference is one vowel and one consonant at the end of an
unstressed syllable.  This should go to Laurel level for judgment in
any event -- kingdom should not usually make aural conflict calls --
but it's not so clear, as "Auda/Ali" or "Michael/Michaela".

inghean Mhaoilbhrighde, 8/00 LoAR, Atlantia:

     Submitted as Aislinn inghean Maoilbhrighde, the question was
     raised whether Aislinn was a medieval name, and if not, whether
     it should be considered SCA compatible.  While evidence suggests
     that the name is post-period, the name has been registered over
     30 times in the past two decades, with at least one registration
     each year save one.  This suggests that the name is commonly
     enough used to be considered SCA compatible.
