Unless something has occurred since I last heard anything, Gwenllian is
coordinating this year's consultation table - on the condition she has a
trainee so they can do it next year. I'm not sure she has a volunteer for
the trainee position yet.

I've cc'ed her on this message.

If the position is still open, maybe someone here (or someone you know) may
be interested in taking on the coordination. Gwenllian can describe better
what the position entails, but most of what I've seen takes skills more in
the area of making lists, following through, and cat herding, rather than
actual heraldic knowledge. Stuff the coordinator does:

- work with Gulf Wars staff to make sure tent/chairs/tables happen; also to
provide consultation hours to the staff so they can be included in
booklets, etc.

- recruit staff for the table, including heralds, senior heralds, &
heraldic artists. Senior heralds are the ones who answer questions from
the heralds doing the actual consultations. Having senior heralds around
to answer questions is why it's less important that the consultation table
coordinator have heraldic knowledge. People who want to volunteer but who
do not wish to do consultation are also needed. They can direct traffic in
the waiting-for-consultation line, water the heralds, and lots of other
tasks that come up.

- contact heralds from Trimaris, Ansteorra, Meridies, & Atlantia (as of
last year) to find out if they will be accepting submissions at the table
and, if so, what days/hours. (A representative from the kingdom accepts
forms & payment at the times they determine. Unlike the Pennsic
consultation table, the consultation table itself does not handle money.)

There is usually a call for volunteers that goes out some time before Gulf
Wars (mid-Feb, if I remember correctly). If you are going to Gulf Wars,
please think about volunteering some time. We need all the help we can get.
