To be precise, RfS X.4.f says
    Six and higher numbers, including semy of charges, are not
    significantly different from each other.
Strewn charges ("semy") are a charge group with "lots" of charges
(where a prudent amount of "lots" depends on artistry of the whole
design, but may be as high as ten or fifteen).

Yes.  So a field or charge semy of soemthing gets a CD for the same
thing plain, and semy of widgets gets a CD for type from semy of
wadgets if and only if widgets get a CD for type from wadges.

Fretty hasn't been considered a field treatment in the SCA for some
years, though you may see references like that.  Based on period
evidence where the same coat was sometimes drawn with fretty or
sometimes with a fret, fretty is considered equivalent to a fret.
(Cover Letter of the September 1992 LoAR)  That is, fretty is a
charge.
