Unto Francois Laurel, Mari Pelican, Zenobia Wreath and the College of Arms
doth HL Shariya bint Badr send Greetings

Good Gentles All,

The Barony of Three Rivers (St. Louis, Missouri) in the Kingdom of Calontir
would like to offer a bid for the 2003 Known World Heraldic Symposium. Our
proposed dates are June 6-8, 2003 in St. Louis, Missouri.

St. Louis, Missouri is centrally located in the continental U.S. It is
easily accessible by plane, car, train, and bus. Lambert-St. Louis
International Airport is serviced by nine major airlines (American, American
West, Continental, Delta, Northwest, Southwest, United and U.S. Airways).
Amtrak has two stations locally. MetroLink, St. Louis' light rail transport
system, runs between the airport and East St. Louis, IL.

The St. Louis Airport Marriott is located directly across the highway from
Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. Special room rates for KWHS are
just $75 per night plus tax (approximately $11) for single or double
occupancy. Shuttle service between the hotel and airport is available.

Site will open Friday with an informal gathering beginning at 6:00 p.m. A
cash bar will be available. This is a great time to meet old friends and
make new ones. Saturday will have four heraldic class tracts, with one tract
devoted to beginner and intermediate level heralds, and a scribal tract
(calligraphy and illumination). Saturday's class rooms are available from 8
a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday evening will be free to enjoy the St. Louis night
life or socialize with friends at the hotel. Space for the Laurel Road Show
is reserved from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Informational handouts will be
available at registration on nearby places to eat.

Preregisteration costs are $15, $18 at the door. Lunch will be included with
preregistration fees. Depending upon the numbers of preregistrations, we may
be able to provide lunch for those who register the day of class.

We are arranging for Royal University of Scir Havoc (RUSH) credits to be
given to Calontiri who attend classes and would like to make similar
arrangements with other interested kingdom universities.

Among those who have already agreed to teach are Dame Mari nic Bryan, Dame
Elsbeth Anne Roth, Mistress Jaella of Armida, Dame Gwenllian ferch Maredudd,
Solveig Throndardottir, Mistress Theresia von Tux, Master Gerald of Ipsley,
Master Andrixos Seljeconus, Sir Erich Hlodowechssun, Mistress Tatianna
Dieurgarde, Master Edward Boice Wright, Mistress Olga Belobashnina

display, heraldic art, name construction, Latin for beginners, Medieval
Latin (for those already familiar with Latin), fealty and oaths, court
ceremony, designing arms, conflict checking, period name construction, and
heraldic misconceptions. A complete tract in calligraphy and illumination
will also be offered.

St. Louis has many other attractions. At historic Forest Park, you can enjoy
the world class St. Louis Zoo, the St. Louis Art Museum, the Muny Opera, St.
Louis Science Center, and the History Museum. Downtown hosts such sites as
the Gateway Arch, Laclede's Landing, historic Soulard Farmer's Market, the
