Hi Malcolm,
>From what I can find, aries (arietis) is defined as a ram; battering ram, a prop, beam. Laniger (masc) is defined as "wool bearing", m. subst. ram, f. sheep. The feminine being lanigera and the neuter lanigerum. It would depend on which definition you were looking for. Do you want a weapon or an animal?

Subject: [ANSTHRLD] Latin question
Greetings all,
In researching medieval Latin, I was looking for the word ram. I came up with 2 different translations, aries and laniger. My question is which is more appropriate for use in a motto? Or is there another translation alltogether.
Thanks for the help!
