"What *about* France?  Purpure didn't really occur there any more than
any other place.  If you mean 'France' as in the royal arms, they're
azure (blue)."

I believe that you *do* see somewhat more purpure in the Iberian
peninsula, but the proposed armory doesn't look Iberian, or like any
other period style.
