I haven't found Mordrake, Moordrake, Moredrake in R&W, Black, 
Bardsley, or similar in Brechenmacher as a German spelling.

A 14th century byname could be constructed from <Mor-> from surnames 
Morecock and Morhen, R&W.  R&W, s.n. Drake, advise that the word 
drake, a male duck, was not used until c. 1300.
