Hi. My name is Harvest Crittenden. I am a professional calligrapher.
Together with two other calligraphers we have started a project called Kards
for Katrina. We have hundreds of artists from 7 different countries
participating. It is a project we thought you might be interested in knowing
about and perhaps have a few members who would like to participate.

Kards for Katrina

Every soul in this country wants to help the people affected by Katrina in
whatever way we can. Gwen Weaver on the east coast, Barbara Close on the
west coast, and Harvest Crittenden in the Midwest, have been putting our
heads together to come up with ideas on how we can best do that.

We came up with Kards for Katrina. We will be collecting original 5 x 7
cards from calligraphers, greeting card artists, collage artists, and other
artists around the world during the month of September. We will be selling
raffle tickets for $5.00 each for your chance to win a packet of 5 cards.
100 percent of the proceeds will go to America’s Second Harvest, where more
than 98% of the money collected goes directly to feed the survivors of the
Katrina Disaster. You may visit their website at

How you can help: Whatever your ability, each and every card will make a
difference so donate an original card to the effort. Your card will be
combined with cards from others around the world and put into packets. These
packets will be raffled off and the winners will receive these wonderful
works of art. Please mail the cards to Harvest Crittenden at 603 W. Crane,
Howell MI 48843 USA. We will scan them to show pictures on the website, and
have a list of the contributors.

Raffle tickets: Raffle tickets will be sold through Acorn Arts. Because we
have the ability to accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, you can
purchase your tickets on line. Each sale will have a unique sale number.
That sale number serves as your raffle ticket and will be entered into the

The drawing will be held on Sunday, October 2nd. All winners will be
notified via email and the packets of cards will be shipped that week. Gwen,
Barbara and Harvest will cover the costs of shipping the winning packets.
