Da'ud 2.1 prec:

[Returning David M_che l Mac Laisre.] The name consists of
three given names: Mac Laisre is a given name, not a patronymic
(and since it means `son of flame', it can't well be
re-interpreted as a patronymic). No evidence has been found for
the use of two given names in Irish, let alone three with no
surname. That, combined with the fact that M_che l is a modern
spelling of older M_ch_l, while Dau_d (rather than David) is an
older spelling of modern Daibhead, is sufficient cause for return.
    [5/94, p.15]

Other precedents disallow three given names in German [Annalies Maria
von Marburg, 09/01, A-Caid], Russian (Jaelle of Armida, CL with the
June 1997 LoAR, p. 2), French (Da'ud ibn Auda, LoAR October 1994,
p. 3), Spanish [Rosalinda Gertrude Kesselheim, 12/99, A-Ansteorra,
overturning (Talan Gwynek, LoAR August 1995, p. 9)], and a weirdness
in Italian (Talan Gwynek, LoAR June 1996, p. 3).

Two given names is a weirdness in Scots [Duncan Alastair MacRae,
12/99, A-Outlands], OK in English [Christiana Ailitha, 09/99,
A-Artemesia]; (Adelina Marie de Castile, 6/05, A-Outlands), returned
in Irish [Ailionora Caointiarn, 02/00, R-Atenveldt], ... and a
weirdness in Anglo-Irish:

  Mary Kate O'Malley. Name.

      This name uses two given names with an Anglicized Irish byname;
this is one step beyond period practice.

6/04, Atenveldt acceptances.

So if the name were translated to Irish Gaelic, it would certainly
bounce. Even if viewed as an English and not Anglo-Irish name, I
believe that's one too many given names to be registerable, though I
have no precedent to hand concerning three given names in English.

Even though two given names in English is registerable without a
weirdness, and in Anglo-Irish with a weirdness, it would be far closer
to period style to have just one given name.
