[ANSTHRLD] Is this normal? Is there a tracer system?

Well, mine was done in 9 months...

Let's see if we can really explicate this...

We start the "clock" when Asterisk receives the submission. There is
no way to measure how long it takes at local, which is where the major
hang ups happen..

So, Faelen, assusming that the local get the submission to Asterisk
before the 15th of the month...

Month 1, submission to Asterisk by 15th. If not, then wait one more month.
Month 2, submission appears in Internal Letter of Intent, published in
the Gazette and online for everyone to see.
Month 3, commentary due on submission by 20th of month. (This gives
about 6 weeks for internal commentary - the rest of month 2 and some
of month 3.)
Month 4, hold internal decision meeting, produce Letter of Intent and
publish to Laurel. Since there is some time between the Decision
Meeting and the LoI, it is a good thing for the local who has an item
in that decision meeting to attend so that any issues which might
cause return can be remedied, if possible before the LoI is published.
Month 5-6 CoA commentary
Month 7 CoA responses.
Month 8-9 decision meeting, production of LoAR (including proofing and
mailing and publication).

Laurel, BTW, is pretty much caught up these days.

We can get bumped from the decision meeting at Laurel for a number of
reasons, forms got lost, check got lost (yes, these are US postal
issues).

You can track this information online via the Heraldic Submissions
Tracker and via the Cover Letters of the LoARs which are posted online
as well. We have links on our webpage or you can go straight to the
sca.org site to track them down.

And yes, I am specifically not giving URLs to these site. I want you
to go look at the heralds' webpage and see all of the other cool stuff
on it as well.
