Agreed about the original parish registers being considered accurate - they are/were often
historically used to determine legal rights of heirs.  

When I registered my name, lo these many years ago, I used court records from a 'shire' in
England, from 1460's, that were listed in book form at the Clayton Geneological Library here in
Houston.  The books sited the date of the lawsuit dockets, who was suiting whom, and what the
suite was about; don't think the results of the suits were listed. 

While it was no original facimilies of the dockets, it was considered historically correct and
good source materials; my name registration had no problems getting through, with documentation
such as that... in fact, I've been asked to make a listing of English women's names from the
books, and publish it in the proceedings for a Knowne World Heraldic - one of these days, I'll do
it.  I really need to find out if Clayton Geneological has put the books online for all to use. 

I don't think there was much discussion on my name registration, it was pretty straight forward,
but one comment I do recall was 'Oh, my!' and that was it - it passed.
