The heraldic term for a rhombus is "lozenge".

A base is a charge.  Therefore, this places a sable charge on a purple
field, which is cause for return.

Even if the base were a metal, the dark colors separated only by
fimbriation would make it not very easy to ID from a distance --
that's not cause for return, just a style note.
