OK, at least now I understand the question. You are not talking about a
baton sinister, which is cut off near the edge of the shield on both sides.
What they are wearing looks like the sinister half of a bend sinister or of
a chevron. (It's also enhanced, since it occupieds only the left upper
quarter of the shield.
It's not a heraldic charge, and I see no clear way to blazon it. It looks
like a marriage of arms of "azure" and "Azure, a bend sinister enhanced".
You might get away with it (though I don't know), because the heralds don't
require good style, bit I can't imagine anyone using this in the middle
ages.
