Actually, I like the idea of having the archives only available to list
members.

When I last switched my email address, I didn't have spam _at all_ for a
couple of days.  Then I signed back on to ANSTHRLD with the new address.
Presto!  Lots of spam that continues through until today.  My bet is that
some webcrawler somewhere is harvesting email addresses from our archives.

Anyway, if the archives are only going to be for subscribers, list members
need to be able to get passwords so we can read them...
