Answer:
Bisons Run was a defunct shire based in Bartlesville, OK that was shutdown for reasons only known to those involved and the seneschallate.  It was replaced by a group of people who wanted no connection to the previous group some years later and they were very determined to have a separate identity and name and arms.  The new group is a canton named Chemin Noir.

On a similar note, anyone know what happened to the group forming in Greenville, TX?  Whether they got off the ground or not?  Whether they chose to use "Black Oak Keep" or start from scratch?
