Interested in watching Richard Garriott's historic journey into space in the early hours of Sunday, October 12? Now you will have multiple opportunities, both at a space launch party in Austin and across the Internet via a variety of live video streams.

If you're going to be up and around in Austin Saturday night into Sunday morning, the space watch party will be held at Opal Divine's Penn Field restaurant on 3601 S. Congress Avenue. The festivities start with live music by The Echo Vine at 11PM, with pre-launch activities starting at 12:30AM and the launch scheduled for 2AM local time. You must be 21 or over to attend.

Even if you're not around in Austin, you can still watch the launch online with the following webstreams:

    * http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/index.html
    * http://www.idb.com.au/pages/nasatv_150k_wm.html
    * http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/nasatv/live_tv.html

You will also be able to get more information and webstreams on the NASA website and elsewhere on the Internet, or at richardinspace.com. It may also be available on NASA TV, which some cable and satellite providers carry.

The space launch is set for 1PM Kazakhstan time, which in Central Daylight Time would be 2AM Sunday morning, 3AM on the east coast, and Midnight on the west coast.

One's sense of honor is the only thing that does not grow old, and the last pleasure, when one is worn out with age, is not, as the poet said, making money, but having the respect of one's fellow men.
-Thucydides
