Greetings Heralds and Scribes,
As I did not receive any bids for AHSS before the deadline, there will be no
such event on the calendar this year.  As such I would like to strongly
encourage that people volunteer to teach/attend heraldic and scribal classes
at:

* King's College (June)
* Westgate Winter Collegium (July)
* KWHSS (Omaha - September)
* Gleann Abhann's Heraldic & Scribal Symposium (October) (info below sent to
me by Mistress Hillary).

> This year's Heraldic and Scribal Symposium will be held in conjunction
with Loch Bais' annual event, Havoc, at the Caney Methodist Conference
Center in Minden LA on October 30-Nov. 1. We are hoping to offer a wide
variety of heraldic and scribal courses to our guests, and for that- your
help is needed!

> All classes of Heraldic or Scribal nature are encouraged, however,
interest has been specifically voiced in the following arenas:
>
> How to lay out an original scroll without tears
> Using period manuscripts as inspiration
> How the submission process works
> Running a List
> How to use the Internet for Good and not Evil (identifying good sources
when it comes to names)
> Heraldic display/Heraldic clothing
> Various name and blazonry classes
>
> In addition to classes, we are hoping for other good heraldically-
themed activities. Seeing as the weekend does cover October 31st, we've
already made plans for heraldic pumpkin carving, but would love to hear
ideas about quests, games, or other activities that could appeal to heralds,
scribes, and those waiting to be converted to one. :-)
