[ANSTHRLD] shire devices

Garreth,

Adlersruhe has both a device and a badge. The device, or arms, has the laurel wreath. The arms should not be worn by any person except the group herald while performing heraldic duties and speaking for the shire. Or by the Crown since they are the direct nobles of the group. In a barony, the baron and baroness can wear the arms. The arms should not be worn or displayed by anyone else because displaying group arms indicates that you are the group's baron or baroness or herald. Displaying it at a group event or meeting for the whole group, yes. Display by a single individual (except the herald while on duty), no.

The badge, without the laurel wreath, can be worn by any member of the shire, or champion, to show a connection to the shire.

And both have a dexter facing head.

Etienne

Ok care to speculate why a badge instead of a device? Seems strange is
that normal practice?

Garreth

I pulled the Adlersruhe file out of the kingdom files, and checked. As
expected, the eagle has the default facing-the-viewer's-left head.

The artwork on the front of the Adlersruhe website is very close to the
original artwork, in fact, with the exception that it's missing the
laurel
wreath... That design is registered to the group as a badge, not the
arms.
