[ANSTHRLD] Quo Warranto?

Don't you just love customs that are inherited?  To the best of my knowledge, references to the OP have never been included from Kingdom Law.  Would have to check with somone like Robin , Jonathon & Willow or Simon & Tessa to see what was inherited from mother Aten.  Later additions to the OP should have been agreed upon by the Crown creating the Award and Star.  As for Baronies, I've always been told the ranking is based on the "date of creation" -- whether that means by the BoD approval or by the date of investiture hasn't come up (there's never been a need in Ansteorra).

Here I am, wanting to start a hare (or perhaps a rabbit) when most of
the readership is off at Gulf Wars.

Is there any statute that determines precedence in Ansteorra, except
for the few specifications of Corpora and kingdom law?  Neither one
says much.  For example, kingdom law pretty much only lists Ansteorran
awards that are in each level, and that territorial barons/esses rank
just below Royal Family.  There's nothing in the heralds' handbook.

Are even the customs mentioned anywhere?

Who decided on the Order of March
<http://herald.ansteorra.org/OP/Order_of_March.rtf> and by what right?

For all I see, I could state that I take precedence of Robin of
Gilwell, for example, and nobody can point to a law that says the
contrary.  Of course, Magister Robertus Gilwelensis could then
demonstrate the fine medieval custom of asking the king and queen for
a field, and I'd get to do my best imitation of a tent-peg ...
More likely, he'd just cite many witnesses to immemorial custom.

How is the precedence of baronies determined?  There's a list of
investitures of barons/esses with dates, but nothing that I see states
that precedence depends on the date of first investiture, versus the
date at which baronial status was given by the BoD or the Society
Seneschal, versus any other criterion.
