[ANSTHRLD] withdrawing a submission

Garreth,

A submission could be withdrawn for any number of reasons.  A couple of examples (there are certainly more):

1) a submitter or the submitter's herald are keeping track of items getting registered when they hear that someone has registered their exact arms or something that conflicts while their submission is still in process.  They consult with the kingdom heralds to verify the conflict and withdraw immediately to redesign and resubmit rather than wait nine months just to get it returned and resubmit then.

2) a married, engaged, or significantly involved couple designed arms together that were obviously designed as a pair (not a period practice) and during the submission process they discover they are not as mutually compatible as they originally thought and they break up.  Because they no longer want arms associated with an ex-significant other, they withdraw the submission.

3) during the submission process, the submitter simply decides they have changed their mind and they do not like their submission anymore and they want to pull it.  Or they change their persona and the Italianate style armory no longer matches their new persona as a pre-literate Celt.

There can be a  lot of reasons to withdraw.  On "how to do it", I would email the kingdom internal submission herald (Asterisk Herald, contact info in Blackstar).  Even if it has left kingdom and headed to the corporate College of Arms, Asterisk will know who to contact to get it withdrawn.  Obviously, if Asterisk has a better procedure than contacting her directly, I am sure she will post a response and let you know.
