[ANSTHRLD] Conflict Check Assistance

I humbly ask your assistance in conflict checking a rather complex device.
I also welcome any and all suggestions in simplification.  The client is an
artist by inclination and a sailor (ship's mate) by occupation.  After much
consultation on a beautiful submission with a melusine he abandoned the
merfolk and came up with this:

Quarterly sable and gules in bend two anchors Or, in bend sinister two
compass stars and a cross throughout argent.

There are several grammatical and stylistic things that I'm just
uncomfortable with, but I'm frankly at a loss as to how to address them.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
