My apologies to those who have already read this note in the latest Black Star,
but I felt the word fame was worth repeating. I am stepping down as Zodiacus
(Precedence) Herald at the upcoming King's Round Table, and turning the office
over to Centurion Alejandro Ramirez Mendoza, who I am certain will do a
superlative job. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the following good
gentles, who helped make this job less like work and more like fun:

·     The local heralds, landed nobles, and members of the populace who provided
hundreds of updates and corrections to names, locations, and other OP minutiae,
or sent in much-needed court reports.
·     All the Crowns who sat the thrones during my tenure, as well as their
respective Golden Staffs (voice heralds) and Sable Scrolls (scribes).  These
gentles provided the lion’s share of the information that has been entered into
the OP database over the last three years, and that’s saying a lot: not a single
event has gone unreported during that time.
·     An extraordinary bunch of Star Principal Heralds, who were in every way
supportive and encouraging: Druinne de Salesberie, Alden Drake, and Emma de
Fetherstan.
·     HL Estrill Swet and Centurion Alejandro Ramirez Mendoza, who assisted with
a meticulous audit of every single entry in the entire OP, the result of which
was the correction of the name/device registration information for scores of
entries, as well as the elimination or merging of numerous duplicate entries.
·     Master Robin of Gilwell and Mistress Serena Lascelles.  I was fortunate
that my beloved friends also happened to be treasure troves of Ansteorran
history and protocol, and veritable fonts of precedence knowledge.  Their advice
and guidance has been invaluable.  I could not have done this job without them.
·     Master François la Flamme.  Master François is the able administrator of
all the things that you don’t see about the OP.  He takes care of all the
programming needs for the OP, and generously helped with any task I placed
before him, despite a grueling modern work and travel schedule.  Francois is
responsible for many of the wonderful new features of the OP, including a
listing of closed awards and orders; the event, date, and group search
functionalities; the addition of achievement information to the OP database; and
countless maintenance tasks and GUI changes that made my job easier. François,
your continuing service to Ansteorra is an inspiration.

I am honored to have had the chance to serve Ansteorra as Zodiacus, and know
that I am leaving the office in capable hands. Welcome, Alejandro!

In service,
Sara Penrose
