Hi all,

Please note, as per my report in this month's Black Star, that the office of Sable Crane is now open for applications. Many thanks to Lady Alisone McCay for all her work in this office over the last two years, which included overseeing a transition of the achievement registration information to a database with an online interface (courtesy of Master Francois).

Alisone's tenure is up in April, so applications are being accepted until March 31. If you are interested in applying for the position of Sable
Crane, please send an application and proof of membership to Star Principal Herald, with copies to me and to the current Sable Crane (see the Black Star for contact info).

The duties of the office include:

- Having a working knowledge of the requirements for registering an achievement in Ansteorra.
- Registering new achievements and maintaining the database (no special web development skills are required).
- Reporting quarterly to the Zodiacus Herald (Sable Crane is a deputy to Zodiacus).
- Educating the populace about what achievements are and how the registration process works. This might include teaching classes or defining additional content for the webpage.
- Encouraging members of the populace to register achievements.
- Answering correspondence from members of the populace and responding to achievement registration inquiries in a timely way. 

The volume of registration requests is not high, but this position sometimes requires that Sable Crane perform additional research about a registration request, in order to better educate themselves and/or a submittor.
