Places where I have gotten books for my library include the following. Estate sales, thrift stores, garage/ yard sales and check your local library system they often have a fund raising sale where they sell books. My personal library also includes English to (other language your choice). When I (HL Delphina Rowel Pursivant) and Lord Ragnar were real active with tables we would have three to four crates of books with us. Good luck and have fun collecting

Subject: [ANSTHRLD] Building a Library

Because I think it will be useful for other folks besides myself, I'm
curious what the heralds with established libraries will respond
with...

Aside from the following books, which book would you recommend most to
the person building a heraldic library?

Withycombe's 3rd Ed Oxford Dict of English Christian Names
Reaney & Wilson's English Christian Names
O'Corrain & Maguire's Irish Names

I listed those three above because I've already procured them from
Amazon for about maybe 20.00 for all three. My next logical choice
would be to grab a copy of Black's Surnames of Scotland, alas
it's not very cheap (Looking at around 50.00 for a used copy).

So I thought I'd seek guidance from you all to find your most used
resources to see if I can't build up my own personal library.

Jayme
