I'll take that bet. A Name Pattern Search at 
http://oanda.sca.org/oanda_np.cgi does not show Bowes, Spencer, or 
Ferguson, the three maiden names of ladies recently marrying into The 
Firm that I know off the top of my head. 
 
Laurel might or might not rule that they're protected, but I suspect 
that they would not thereby make it into the Armorial.
