That is a very good analogy. :)

I wouldn't go that far; I think many general concepts (substantial
difference and significant difference, two+ CDs, etc) will remain the
same. Much of the "X is a CD from Y" will remain the same. What may
well change is things that weren't considered a CD before being
explicitly ruled a CD apart, and relaxing the limitations on what
makes a substantial difference. I think in many ways it will be less
jarring of a change than that from the Old Rules to the current set --
going from counting Major and Minor points of differences to CDs...
some of those really old precedents are hard to use with the modern
ruleset because of that.
