Another option is to get the TEI viewer.   I was able to use it for the
"cover page"  but not directly for the letters.   I also changed the
extention on the paston.1685 file to paston.html to get a much more readable
file.  I suspect a bit of CSS fiddling (included in the TEI viewer would
make it pretty.
