Greetings all,
If you weren't at Legacy of Lions this past weekend, you missed an outstanding
display of heraldry on the list field. In the afternoon, there was a grand
melee CREST battle! All the fighters on the field adorned their helms with
fablous crests, where the objective was to knock off, or destroy, the majority
of the fighter's crest. There are many photos uploaded to Facebook! Many of
the helms were also decorated with torse and mantles. It was such a fabulous
display of heraldry. Many thanks to all of those (fighters and fighter
supporters) for bringing such wonderful displays to the field. And MANY thanks
to Their Excellencies Bjornsborg for hosting such a great melee!
As a herald, I hope the display inspired people out there to consider
registering heraldic achievement elements (like crests!) with our kingdom
achievement registrar (Sable Crane Pursuivant), Lady Vyolante Drago do Porto.
Based on what kingdom awards you have been granted by the Crown, you may be
entitled to register torse and mantling (AoA level), crests (Grants), mottos
(Peers), coronets and supporters (nobles/royals). The rules and
requirements for registering heraldic achievements, and Lady Vyolante's email
address can be found here: http://heraldry.ansteorra.org/achievements.php. Like
your device, some achievement elements (crests and supporters) can be registered
to be unique to you!
It was truly magnificent to see heraldry come to life on the field... or in Sir
Corwin's case death!
Yours in service,
Alden Drake
Actuarius Pursuivant
