To which Serena responds:

I apologize for being unclear. (I wrote my earlier message while working on an appellate brief for a final class project. Bad Idea.)

In fact, I agree that the blazon should be altered, since it is causing confusion today.

I wasn't trying to communicate a judgment either way about the present situation with the blazon; I was simply attempting to communicate my belief as to why it was blazoned that way when it was registered waaaay back when.  I would never have drawn it any other way than the way it's registered, no matter the blazon, but that's because I know the artwork it's taken from, having seen the original submission artwork back when I was doing staff work for various SPH's and immediately recognizing its source. [BTW, if anyone cares, here's that source citation, since I'm now at home with my books: Ludovico degli Arrighi, "La Operina da Imparare di scriuere littera Cancellarescha"(published 1522) as reproduced in Three Classics of Italian Calligraphy (Dover: New York, (c)1953), p. 39.] However, many people (probably most, actually) have never seen that artwork, and therefore wouldn't know what it should look like.

So, while its orientation seemed not to need blazoning at the time it was registered, obviously nowadays it does.

Speaking of blazon errors that perpetuate erroneous artwork...The blazon for Ansteorra's lion supporter in the kingdom achievements database online is still incorrect, in that the lion should be a "lion rampant guardant argent". To whom should I (re-)report this?
