Before someone says "but! Dropbox files can be downloaded and thus
available offline!" .. I'd also note that the contents of the
Heraldstick largely fall into two categories:

- Articles already available online (and whose authors likely would
not appreciate having them put in Dropbox, particularly since they may
be updated; the Heraldstick has an update tool to check for that)
- Tools that really require a specific OS and other tools to run
properly, such as the Ordinary and Armorial (which also updates
regularly; ditto on Heraldstick update tool)

This is why the Heraldstick is a virtual machine, so it can run that
OS and other tools inside it.
