<DIV> I have a member of my populace who would like a name as closely resembling Joan of Caithness. I have found a Joan Johnsdottir at year 1190, but when we looked at the time frame (945 - 1035ish) she wanted we found Jóan being used as a masculine name (from Jóhan I assume) . I figured the "of Caithness" could be covered by "af Katanes" or by a byname my client brought, in the masculine declension, "inn katneski".</DIV>
<DIV> I would greatly appreciate any help you can give in doing her some service.</DIV>
