RE: a submission for Anne the Spinster in the April Gazette, and the commentary in the June issue.  There is a question about the device.  I am unsure I understand the questions about said device, and will offer a clarification, and wait to see if this helps or hinders.  The thistle proper (purple and green), is on a gold background.
