Any part of the root that appears as a rounded/ovoid projection which does not
have an obvious flat cut surface would most probably be a bud. If examined
closely , this part of the root is really rather obvious. The best betm is to
buy a piece of tuber 3-5 inches long and plant it. The odds are in your favor
that one of the projections will be a bud.
