Please tell  Baron Master William de Montegilt that
he is misinformed. Avicenna was not a Jewish doctor, 
but Muslim philosopher, born in Bokhara, in Central Asia, 
ca. 980-1037.

Maimonides was a rabbi and philosopher, who left his
home in Cordoba, Spain and eventually settled in Egypt.
His dates are 1135-1204. Avicenna wasn't his teacher,
but he may have read and been influenced by Avicenna's
works.

Both of these men would have been known in learned
circles of Europe by the 13th century--Thomas Aquinas
knew the work of both and refers to them in his Summa.
