Haven't got a current copy of Corpora, but you may remember that at one
time, it was required to have a chirurgeon present at any fighting event
or practice.  When we began to have to worry about legal status, the
Corporation lawyer explained that to 'require' a chirurgeon 'might'
legally imply a certain level of care, for which we could be sued if that
care was deemed not available/insufficient, etc.  That was when we went
to 'may have' chirurgeon(s) at events.  I think this is the same sort of
thing, and we must issue a disclaimer in any publishing: paper,
electronically, etc.  This is said to be...   XXX ref. states...  The SCA
does not...etc.

Our Goddess undoubtedly knows how to word it.
