do you like how the authors treat scientific data? Do
they give you points to the source material they read?

on the information they give you in the book? How's the
organization? Table of contents? Index? Pictures? (I'm

There are tons of books that are useful for identification of
plants that you can buy. These are not those. The books above are
a few that move beyond simply saying "Here's a picture. Now don't
eat or use it because we say so."

Paired with your period sources and a few dictionaries, these should
be a good place to START your research. Remember: research everything.
Learning how to read scientific articles may be the next step so you
can question why some authors list one plant and other authors or
organizations don't.
