HERB - Question?

I planted them in an area of my garden that us has a lot of shade to protect 
them from the scorching sun.  As they are also planted on a slop, they get a 
good watering from the hill.  The soil is very sandy as the kids sandbox is 
usually emptied into that spot every year.
