HERB - soap answers

I made a lavender soap with coffee grounds for my male gardening friends
and it was well received! I guess I grind my coffee finely (whole beans
in the grinder at home vs. Folgers) because it didn't have a really
course texture - just slightly bumpy. I guess it matters on how much you
add, too. :) I've also heard of using cornmeal and that sounds MUCH
coarser. What about something like Kaolin clay or is that too fine?
