I found this on the SCA Arts list, and thought many would be interested.

Hello to the list.

Today in the "Baltimore Sun", there is an article about a "palimpset" (a
twice-used book) which is being preserved and displayed at the Walters
Art
Gallery in Baltimore. The original text is a 10th century copy of
Archimedes'
"Method of Mechanical Theories" and is the only surviving text of it.
The
book also contains another Archimedes thesis, "On Floating Bodies." The
text
has been overwritten in the 13th century probably by a monk who then
wrote a
treatise on religious rites. The book is on loan from its private owner
and
will be on display from 20 June to 5 September.
